Dr. Alec J. Megibow, a former Full Professor of Radiology and the Vice Chairman of Education at the New York University School of Medicine's Department of Radiology, received his MD from SUNY Syracuse in 1974. After completing his attending at Bellevue Hospital, Dr. Megibow went on to teach at such prominent facilities as Cornell University Medical Center, New York Downtown Hospital, and Hackensack Hospital. In addition, he has served as a Visiting Professor at more than 30 universities and medical centers across North America including the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Nebraska, the University of Connecticut, Emory University, Columbia University, Louisiana State University, McGill Medical School, and the University of Manitoba. He has written extensively having authored or co-authored more than 150 books, book chapters, and journal articles since 1979 and has presented more than 150 scientific and professional presentations and abstracts around the globe. Dr. Megibow has received multiple awards for editing such journals as Radiology, the American Journal of Radiology, and Gastrointestinal Radiology, and has been honored by the Society of Gastrointestinal Radiology, the Radiological Society of North America, the Society of Genitourinary Radiologists, the American Roentgen Ray Society, and the European Society of GI Radiology.
