Data Justice Post-Doctoral Fellowship

The Digital Interests Lab is looking for a postdoctoral fellow in "Data Justice" starting September 2022 with opportunity for annual renewal through 2024. Based at New York University (NYU), the Digital Interests Lab is a research collaborative that fosters interdisciplinary scholarship on data governance and public accountability. The fellow will work in close collaboration with Dr. Anne L. Washington, the Principal Investigator (PI) and Director of the Lab in addition to another postdoctoral fellow in Racial Equity being hired simultaneously.

The Data Justice fellow will harness technology to imagine alternatives, promote solutions, or build responses to the impact of racism in digital infrastructure. The Data Justice fellow will translate academic research into actionable ideas, such as responding to legislative requests and writing for policy audiences. This is not a data science position although anyone is welcome who has advanced technical skills, openness to new methods, and an ability to write.
