Extended Optional Practical Training in the US for International Students (STEM OPT)

You may be able to work in the United States after graduation for up to three years if you complete your studies in one of NYU Steinhardt's programs in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM).

Optional Practical Training (OPT) is temporary employment that is directly related to your major field of study.  This training helps you develop and apply the practical and research skills you've learned at NYU Steinhardt to advance your career.
