Suzy Jane Hunt is an actress, research artist, and educator; an acting teacher at the Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (AMDA); an adjunct professor at NYU Steinhardt’s program in Educational Theatre; and a creative collaborator with the Verbatim Performance Lab, where she helped to create The Kavanaugh Files, an investigation into gender perception in which she performs Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s testimony verbatim. Suzy’s own interview theatre piece When You Ask Her uses a combination of interviews and personal narrative to explore what shapes female sexuality in America. When You Ask Her is a one-person show that seeks to create open discussion on topics ranging from sex education and “first times” to sexual assault and rape culture. A workshop of the play was produced by All For One theatre company in January 2020.
