Kenny Mai is the Data Manager at the Research Alliance for New York City Schools. He brings several years of IT experience to the organization. In his role, Kenny helps to build, maintain, and secure the Research Alliance’s archive of data about New York City schools and communities.
Prior to joining the Research Alliance, Kenny spent three years as an IT systems administrator at NYU Steinhardt, where he created data usage reports, managed research data across projects and departments, collaborated with principal investigators to implement promising data structures and hierarchies, and worked with university research teams to establish secure data transfer methods. He has worked closely with a variety of education and social policy researchers, and is particularly interested in immigration policy.
Kenny holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from New York University Tandon, and is currently pursuing an MS in Applied Statistics for Social Research at New York University’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development.
