Alumni from Israel

Name: Tal Arnon

Where is home? Israel

Status in NYU OT program? Alumni of MA program

What was your educational/professional background in occupational therapy before coming to NYU? I have a Bachelors in Occupational Therapy from the Hebrew University

What are your research interest(s)? Mostly cognitive and geriatrics, but interested also in anything related to physical disabilities in adults.

Were you involved in any research projects during your studies, if so what were they? Yes- during the program I was involved in Dr. Voelbel's study, regarding cognitive changes in patients with atrial fibrillation, as part of my Masters project.
The following year I was involved as a research assistant in 2 separate studies:
1- Dr. Chippendale's study- looking at the effects of a writing workshop with an intergenerational component on seniors.
2- Dr Goverover's study- developing a new evaluation tool for MS patients.

Why did choose to attend New York University’s OT program? I had always wanted to study at NYU and live in NY at some point in my life, and having just finished my Bachelors in OT, I wanted to continue my education in the field. I looked into the program at NYU- which seemed to be exactly what I had in mind, and I was lucky enough to get in...

What did you enjoy most about your experience at NYU? Everything! I enjoyed the classes I took, the research I got to take part in, my classmates (who are now my friends), the professors and faculty- who were far better than I could have ever imagined- both professionally and personally, and just generally- the life of an NYU student.

What was your favorite thing to do in New York City? BROADWAY.

Where are you currently working? I work in the Geriatric Rehab Ward of Tel Aviv Medical Cener.  My job involves treating patients over the ago of 65 presenting with mostly neurological and/or orthopedic conditions.
