CCTOP Welcome Meeting

Required for Community College Transfer Opportunity Program (CCTOP) students. Join us for an overview of understanding your transfer credit, financial aid, and responsibilities as a CCTOP student. This is a great opportunity to meet other community college transfer students, as well as identifying strategies for success.

New Transfer Student Panel

New transfer students are invited to learn about NYU directly from students who have successfully transferred. Hear firsthand from transfer student leaders about their experiences and tips for transitioning into NYU from a 2-year or 4-year institution! Please bring your questions.

New Transfer Student Expository Writing Exam

Tuesday, August 30, 3:30 – 4:30pm
Silver Center for Arts & Sciences, Room 208

New external transfer students who have credits applied to both Writing the Essay and Advanced College Essay, OR who have credits applied to Advanced College Essay looking to submit a Portfolio for exemption of Writing the Essay are required to complete this Exam before the start of the semester. Please RSVP.

New Student Seminar Meet Up

Wednesday, August 31, time & locations TBA

Join your Orientation Leaders for a special program with students in your New Student Seminar. Get to know your classmates and explore New York City before classes start. This event is designed just for new students in your department, by the Orientation Leaders you've been communicating with throughout the summer! The specific time and meet-up location will be e-mailed to you by your OLs.

International Student Welcome

Thursday, September 1, 11:00am – 1:00pm
Kimmel Center for University Life, Room 914

Join the NYU Steinhardt Office of Student Affairs and NYU's Office of Global Services to hear about the resources and programs offered specifically for international students as well as hear from current students about their experiences as international students. This program will also include the mandatory visa check-in and a presentation by the Office of Global Services about the basics of keeping legal in the US as a F-1 or J-1 student, employment in the U.S., cultural adjustment and U.S. classroom culture, and more.

NYU Steinhardt Day of Service

Friday, September 2, 8am - 2pm

Commitment to service is a key value at NYU Steinhardt. We’ll be working in partnership with NYC’s Parks Department and Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen and will end our session back on campus for a free catered lunch and conversation. Through this opportunity, you'll get to:

  • Meet new NYU Steinhardt friends
  • Visit a new area of NYC
  • Contribute to your NYC community
