Program for CSS 2017 Decolonizing Education Conference Now Available

The program for the 2017 Decolonizing Education Conference can now be accessed. The conference agenda, session descriptions, biography of the keynote speaker, and more information regarding the conference can be found in this program.

The 2017 Decolonizing Education Conference was presented by Metro Center’s Center for strategic Solutions (CSS) on April 22nd, 2017 at Brooklyn Law School, 250 Joralemon St. from 8:30-4:00 p.m.

The conference was co-sponsored by CSS and NYCDOE’s Expanded Success Initiative, which was designed for teachers by teachers. Speakers, presenters, and all practitioners offered their approaches in operationalizing the tenets of critical pedagogy and fostering instructional and curricular designs that center the brilliance of racially, culturally, and linguistically diverse students. The keynote speaker was teacher/writer/speaker/activist José Luis Vilson.
