Dr. Maloney Elected to ENCATC Board

Performing Arts Administration program director Dr. Richard Maloney was elected to the 2017-2019 Board of Directors of ENCATC, the European network on cultural management and policy. Dr. Maloney is the first non-European to join the board in the group's 25-year history. The board's mission is "to further the organization’s efforts to advocate for excellence in cultural management and cultural policy education, professionalize the cultural sector to make it sustainable, and provide the academic, research, and professional communities a unique platform for discussion and exchange at the European and international level."

After the results of the election were announced, ENCATC Secretary General GiannaLia Cogliandro Beyens stated, “We are very excited to have Professor Maloney join the ENCATC board. His longstanding commitment to the development of the cultural policy and management field, support of the next generation of arts leaders and scholars, and deep interest in internationalism and intercultural dialogue will be an asset to this Board as they work to fulfill the mission of the organization.”

ENCATC, founded in 1992, is an independent membership organisation of over 100 higher education institutions and cultural organisations in more than 40 countries.
