“Outcomes Beyond Test Scores: New Directions for Education Science”

On June 2nd, the Institute for Education Sciences-funded Predoctoral Interdisciplinary Research Training (IES-PIRT) program at NYU’s Institute of Human Development and Social Change will hold a day-long conference with presentations from education scholars at NYU and around the nation. Topics include new research in civic engagement, physical and mental health, and social emotional learning. Following the presentations, Research Alliance Executive Director Jim Kemple will synthesize key ideas from the day, and lead a capstone discussion among attendees.

Eskolta’s Transfer School Conference

On June 9th, Research Analyst Sarah Klevan will share findings from Strategies for Improving School Culture: Educator Reflections on Transforming the High School Experience for Black and Latino Young Men, the latest report from the Research Alliance’s evaluation of the Expanded Success Initiative, at Eskolta’s annual conference for school leaders, educators, and staff from youth development organizations working with transfer schools.
