Global Affairs Team Welcomes New Staff

Vivienne Felix, Associate Director of Experiential Learning and Reginald “Reggie” Spence, Program Manager have joined NYU Steinhardt’s Office of Global Affairs and Experiential Learning this semester.  

Vivienne will support the academic departments in their fieldwork and internship programs by providing cross-program analytics and program development assistance. She will also help us develop and maintain community-engaged programs both in New York and elsewhere, domestically and internationally. She comes to the school after working for the City University of New York (CUNY) Early College Initiative as an Employer Partnerships Developer.  In that role, she managed internship development and strategic partnerships with businesses, corporations, and non-profits for a network of 9-14 Early College & Career Schools.  With more than 10 years of administrative experience in student affairs, fundraising, and academic support, she has also taught English as a Second Language (ESL) at The College of New Jersey.  Vivienne holds a B.A. in International Affairs from Lafayette College and a M.A. in Education from the University of Connecticut.  She earned her Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration, with a specialization in Comparative and International Education, from Bowling Green State University.


Reggie will manage a portfolio of graduate, faculty-led study abroad programs and other international initiatives.  Before joining NYU, he worked at Pace University as an Education Abroad Adviser preparing students for successful participation in study abroad.  Before that, he participated in the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program as an English Teacher in rural Tome, Miyagi Prefecture where he taught English at several schools and promoted intercultural activities with locals.  He remains an active member of the JET Alumni Association of New York, where he continues to promote strong ties between the U.S. and Japan at local government functions and community outreach and alumni events.  Reginald holds an M.A. in International Education Management from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies, earned his B.A. in East Asian Studies from the University at Albany, and studied abroad at Kansai Gaidai University in Osaka, Japan.
