The Dance Education program of NYU Steinhardt had terrific turnout at the 2014 National Dance Education Organization Conference with over 50 members of the NYU Dance Ed community participating.

Two current graduate students received funding to attend. Minami Hara received funding from NYSDEA, and Victoria Huish was awarded the Ann Zirulnik Conference Scholarship.

A highlight of the conference was a presentation entitled "ABT & NYU: Artistic and Administrative Collaboration," which was presented by Dance Education faculty and alumni. This panel discussion explored the administrative and artistic rewards as well as the complexities of the collaboration between the American Ballet Theatre and NYU Steinhardt. NYU and ABT have worked together since 2008.

In addition to this panel discussion, there were a total of 32 presentations by faculty, students, and alumni of the Dance Education program at this year’s conference. Some of these other offerings included discussions of men in dance, choreography, and dance and neuroscience.

The 2014 NDEO Conference took place November 5-9 in Chicago.
