Vanessa Coca on Academic Rigor and College Readiness

Research Fellow Vanessa Coca presented about the role of academic preparation in high school in preparing students for college, as part of the CUNY Institute for Education Policy’s conference, “Getting In and Staying In: Challenging the College Completion Gap.” The two-day convening examined issues related to college readiness and completion and highlighted promising strategies for reducing achievement gaps and improving college success. Vanessa’s presentation drew on her new Research Alliance report, New York City Goes to College, as well as her previous work at the University of Chicago Consortium for Chicago School Research.
