The Department is seeking a One-year Visiting Position, Clinical Nutrition or Dietetics

Nine-month appointment starting September 1, 2010

NYU's Department of Nutrition, Food Studies, and Public Health seeks a one-year visiting faculty member in clinical nutrition or dietetics. The Steinhardt School provides undergraduate and graduate education in the areas of culture, education and human development, and includes several departments focused on health and health services. Achieving our department's mission requires this position to support the core nutrition courses and programs in concert with the Steinhardt mission for advancing knowledge in human development and well-being through rigorous research and education.

We are seeking candidates with teaching, clinical practice, and/or research experience in Nutrition or Dietetics who would support our accredited dietetic internship and Master of Science program in clinical nutrition. Candidates with a background in clinical or applied nutrition, behavioral education or clinical interventions would complement the existing faculty in nutrition, food studies, and public health.


Candidates should have a Doctorate and/or Masters with specialty credentials, registered dietitian status, teaching experience, and a record of research or advanced clinical nutrition practice. We will consider candidates with a range of research interests, which may include: clinical nutrition, nutrition education or food and nutrition.


Successful candidates will be able to contribute to the NYU Nutrition programs, particularly courses in the Clinical Nutrition masters' program. The candidate will be expected to be an active teacher and adviser and to engage in the intellectual life of the program and the department. The position is to begin September 1, 2010.
