Wosnitzer Comments on Wall Street, Proprietary Trading

Robert Wosnitzer, Doctoral candidate in the NYU Steinhardt Department of Media, Culture, and Communication, was interviewed by Michael Lewis, Bloomberg News columnist and author of the best-selling books Liar's Poker, The Big Short, and The Blind Side.

The story appeared on Bloomberg in an article titled, "Wall Street Proprietary Trading Goes Under Cover" and in The New York Times' DealBook in an article titled, "Goodbye Proprietary Trading, Hello Loophole." Wosnitzer is scheduled to appear on Bloomberg TV on November 9 to discuss his research.

Wosnitzer's research interests include political economy and financialization, cultural economy, media representations of finance, and the socio-technological assemblages within the circuits of finance. Prior to joining NYU, he worked for more than a decade in the field of debt capital markets, where he traded and placed debt instruments with institutional clients.
