Advance Your Knowledge and Practice of Vocal Pedagogy

Combining intensive vocal training with related academic study, this post-master's advanced certificate program expands your knowledge of vocal pedagogy. You will study one-on-one with our faculty, build a vocal repertoire for teaching, and take courses in diction and vocal pedagogy theory and practice.

Completion of a master's degree is required for admission to this program. We also offer a 48-credit dual degree that combines a master of music in vocal performance with this advanced certificate.

How You'll Learn

Specialized Training in Voice and Vocal Pedagogy
Your coursework will include classes in vocal pedagogy theory and practice, foreign language diction for singers, and private voice training with leading New York City vocalists. You will build a vocal repertoire for teaching, with the opportunity to focus on either classical voice or music theatre.

Please note: Due to the credit structure, international students who require a student visa are ineligible for admission to this advanced certificate program, although they may study Vocal Pedagogy through our dual-degree programs in Music Theatre or Classical Voice.
