Evan Michael Johnston

Graduate Assistant, Center for Policy, Research and Evaluation; Communications

Evan Johnston is a Steinhardt doctoral student in Urban Education, and adjunct faculty with the Childhood and Special Education undergraduate programs at NYU Steinhardt's Teaching and Learning department. At Metro Center, he is a Graduate Assistant at the Center for Policy, Research, and Evaluation, contributing simultaneously to multiple projects such as frameworks for Culturally Responsive educational systems and the inclusion of intersectional race, gender, and dis/ability perspectives in educational literature, policy, and practices.

In addition, Evan works for the Metro Center's Communications team assisting in the management of Metro Center's active social media and web presence. He possesses M.A.s from the New School for Social Research and Montclair State University. He is a New Jersey-certified teacher in Early Childhood and Childhood Elementary Education and Teacher of Students with Disabilities. He formerly taught for Newark Public Schools.
