Scholarship Day is being Co-Sponsored by the Steinhardt Office of Research and the GSO and it will take place on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM. The schedule will be as follows:
- 9:00 to 9:30 AM Setup (all student presenters should arrive at this time)

Oral Presentations
Oral presentations should be no longer than 5 minutes in length. Questions and answers should be tabled until the end of each presentation. A projector will be available for PowerPoint and if you decide to use it you should forward your presentation to Nija Leocadio (nija.leocadio@nyu.edu) no later than 12 PM on April 16th so that it can be loaded onto the laptop. Your presentation should include a brief synopsis of your research question, how you answered that question, and your results.
Poster Presentations
You may use a Poster Template like this one or create your own. The library has created a very useful resource for creating posters. You can find it here.
Poster guidelines are as follows:
- A maximum of 40” x 28”
- Hard backed to rest on an easel
- Have a font between 20 and 24 inches
- Have a title that includes the name of the author(s) and is approximately 1 inch tall
Below are suggested sections that you may want to include on your poster:
- Abstract
- Methods
- Results or findings
- Discussion
- Acknowledgments (Optional)
Please work with your mentor or adviser on the creation of your poster.
Poster Presentations with a Multimedia Component
This type of presentation is new to the showcase. You must include a multimedia supplement to your application but it does not have to be a video. This is a space for you to creatively represent your research and disseminate your findings in non-traditional ways. If selected for this type of presentation you will be given an easel for your traditional poster as well as a high table for your laptop. You will also be judged in a separate category from the poster sessions.
