Kenneth Logan is Syracuse Residency Director and Visiting Assistant Professor in the Embedded Master of Arts in Teaching program. He earned his undergraduate degree in English from Kenyon College and his Masters degree from Dartmouth College. He expects to earn his PhD in literacy education from NYU Steinhardt in December 2017. Before coming to NYU, he taught high school English for several years in Vermont and San Francisco.

His research interests include adolescent academic language development, particularly multiple-meaning words and academic vocabulary. Results from his investigation into the relationship between knowledge of academic word meanings and reading comprehension among adolescent bilinguals were published in Reading and Writing, and he co-authored a chapter on academic vocabulary in the forthcoming Handbook of English Language Arts (eds. Fisher and Lapp).

He received the 2017 Student Vocabulary Research Paper Award from the American Educational Research Association. His young adult novel True Letters from a Fictional Life was published by HarperCollins in June 2016.
