Requesting NYU Tax Exemption

Expense Management

Vendors may request NYU’s Tax Exemption Certificate or W9 be provided to them as proof of NYU’s tax exemption status. This is provided by Accounts Payable and sent directly to the vendor.

Process of Requesting Tax Certificate

To arrange for a certificate to be sent to a vendor, email a request to askfinancelink@nyu.edu with the following details:

  • Vendor’s name
  • Vendor’s address
  • Vendor’s email address and/or fax number
  • Name of vendor contact person
  • Reason tax exemption is requested

An email notification will be sent to confirm that Accounts Payable provided the certificate to the vendor.
