Expense Management

One-time brief assignment or brief work performed by a student who is or has been on NYU Payroll:

The Steinhardt Payroll Group at PeopleLink will determine the appropriate appointment process. Email askpeoplelink@nyu.edu with the following details:

  • Student's name
  • Student’s N Number
  • Description of work to be performed
  • Date(s) and duration of work
  • Chartfield to be charged
  • Whether the work assignment is one-time or recurring

Graduate students performing work may be eligible for the union, so this memo must be received as soon as possible to ensure compliance with the union contract.

Brief work performed by students who have never been on NYU Payroll:

If duration of work was longer than one week or if it is not clear if the student was ever on NYU payroll, send a memo with the details listed above to askpeoplelink@nyu.edu. Otherwise, fill out the Student Expense Reimbursement Form and use account code 60120 for honoria.

Contact the Steinhardt Finance team at steinhardt.finance@nyu.edu for additional information.
