About Peggy Wang:

Dr. Wang is an associate professor of art history and Asian studies at Bowdoin College in Maine. She is the author of numerous articles about China's artists, critics and the art market dating from the early 1990s. In 2010, Dr. Wang served as editorial associate for the essential resource Contemporary Chinese Art: Primary Documents (Museum of Modern Art), and was the Robert H.N. Ho Family Foundation researcher-in-residence at the Asia Art Archive in Hong Kong (2017) and a Fulbright Scholar in China. Her latest book, The Future History of Contemporary Art (University of Minnesota Press) examines the work of five central Chinese artists: Zhang Xiaogang, Wang Guangyi, Sui Jianguo, Zhang Peili, and Lin Tianmiao, and explores how their work engages complexities in form, meaning, and visual strategies.
