Featured Speaker: Diane Ravitch, Research Professor, Applied Statistics, Social Science, and Humanities, NYU Steinhardt

In her latest book, Slaying Goliath: The Passionate Resistance to Privatization and the fight to Save America’s Public Schools, Diane Ravitch writes of the resistance to those who have privatized the schools, whom she calls the disrupters, who believe America's schools should be run like businesses, with teachers incentivized with threats and bonuses.

At this lecture, Professor Ravitch will discuss the book, her ongoing efforts to challenge privatization and especially public support for charter schools, and the growing movements of parents and teachers to support a different direction in American public education.
