NYU Steinhardt has been the academic home to Black women who have made a difference in our society since its inception. They have excelled in areas of activism and education (like Dorothy Height and Pearl Primus), politics (like Velmanette Montgomery and Inonge Mbikusita-Lewanika), healthcare (like Cernice Ferguson), and so much more.
To pay homage to the excellence of Black women in our community, join us for a panel with community members who identify as Black Women who will discuss their journeys at NYU Steinhardt.
NYU provides reasonable accommodations to people with disabilities. Please submit your request for accommodations for events and services at least two weeks before the date of your accommodation need. Although we can't guarantee accommodation requests received less than two weeks before the event, you should still contact us and we will do our best to meet your accommodation need. Please email
steinhardt.events@nyu.edu for assistance.
