Sound Design and Spatialization at IRCAM

Course Description: This 1 semester course is aimed at students of Music Technology and Composition and is organized as 14 day-long sessions. Students explore real time computer music through sound design (generative algorithms, synthesis, processing) and immersive spatialization. The course includes presentations from IRCAM’s R&D departments as well as access to the IRCAM Forum software such as Spat, SuperVP, AudioSculpt, and many sound design tools.

Students are expected to do assignments and project work outside of class and will present a project at the end of the semester: a real-time composition, performance or installation.
