  • Description: Course provides students with a critical understanding of how international flows of information & entertainment products – from news & information to movies, television & lifestyle brands -- play a role in shaping & reshaping global economic, political, military, & cultural realities. We will examine a range of forms of mediated production & consumption understood broadly in relation to political, economic, & cultural power, & situate these forms in relation to contemporary theorizing about global cultural convergence, divergence, & hybridity.
