Student Workers
Until further notice:
- All students will be paid for their regularly scheduled hours.
- No students may work in-office.
- Due to federal regulations, you cannot work during this period if you are Federal Work Study–funded.
- If you are not Federal Work Study–funded, you may telework if feasible. You should discuss your options with your supervisor.
Administrators, Staff, and Research Employees
All Steinhardt administrators, researchers, and staff will begin working remotely effective Monday, March 16, 2020, whenever and wherever possible. Please work with your supervisors and department managers to ensure you and your teams have the necessary resources and workforce continuity plans to continue operations. We ask managers to extend maximum flexibility with these arrangements.
Employees working remotely should follow the instructions in the Telework Toolkit, including
- Installing and Using NYU VPN
- Installing and Using NYU Zoom
- Setting up Jabber (to remotely access your office desk phone from your home computer)
- NYU Data Storage Solutions
Teams are strongly encouraged to work together and think creatively to ensure continuity of work while offering flexibility for commitments and responsibilities within and outside of the institution.
Employees are encouraged to visit the University’s FAQ’s for additional information. Please contact your supervisor, NYU Steinhardt Human Resources, or PeopleLink with questions.
Faculty
Faculty should follow the instructions in the Faculty Remote Instruction Guide and Toolkit, including
- Using Zoom for all synchronous classes and group discussions
- Sending student communications through NYU Classes
- Contacting Technology Services, NYU IT, and Zoom Help Center for support
