Performances, Recitals, Exhibitions, and Events

Updated March 11, 2020

We encourage students to contact their instructors or advisors with questions about course requirements or modifications to course-related, on-campus events and activities.

Events and Gatherings

All public gatherings are cancelled. This includes public performances and other events.

Although many NYU and NYU Steinhardt facilities and administrative offices remain open, internal gatherings are strongly discouraged. This includes gatherings for performances, rehearsals, exhibitions, study groups, or any other congregate activities.

Closed Recitals, Performances, and Exhibitions

Through Sunday, March 15, in-person recitals, performances, and exhibitions can move forward but will be closed to all but students and evaluators. No outside guests are permitted to attend and remote accommodations for these experiences must be available to students.

In exceptional cases, instructors may request to continue offering closed recitals, performances, and exhibitions; however students are not required to be on campus and remote accommodations for these experiences must be offered. Please submit requests to Steinhardt.Academic-Continuity@nyu.edu. We anticipate these to be few in number.

Academic activities not required as a critical evaluative component of a course and that cannot be offered remotely, are cancelled.
