Is the program interdisciplinary, or must I apply to and work in one discipline? 

Our program is interdisciplinary and students may work in one or a variety of different media.

Can I study part-time?

No, the M.F.A. Studio Art program requires full-time attendance.

How much does the program cost?

Are there scholarships or other funding available for M.F.A. students?  

 Yes. All students accepted to the M.F.A. Studio Art program receive a tuition scholarship.

Is there 24-hour access to the department labs and the M.F.A. studios?

M.F.A. students have 24-hour access to the department building and their studios. The Barney Building itself, however, is open from 8:00 a.m. until midnight.   Shops and labs are open during regular building hours only when there are technicians/monitors present. Times vary according to each studio area.

Are there private studios available?

Yes, all the M.F.A. studios are private.

Is it possible to have my portfolio reviewed before I apply?

It is possible to have your portfolio reviewed after one of the regularly scheduled Information Sessions during the fall semester.

When will I hear if I am accepted?

M.F.A. applicants are notified around April 1st.
