MA in Counseling and Guidance: School and Bilingual School Counseling, Pre-K-12, On-Campus Program


Each of the MA Counseling and Guidance Programs prepares the student to sit for the National Certified Counselor exam.

Students may contact the National Board of Certified Counselors for additional information. Students in the School Counseling and Bilingual School Counseling program obtain initial certification by the State of New York upon graduation.

After completing two years of post-master's employment, graduates of the School Counseling Programs can attain permanent certification from the State of New York. 

The Dept. of Applied Psychology is currently in the process of researching state requirements for professional licensure and/or certification outside the State of New York, as it relates to the School Counseling Program.  Please contact for additional information.
