University of Houston-Clear Lake invites applications and nominations for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Education with an emphasis in Educational Technology starting fall 2010.
Candidates must have an earned doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction or related area with an emphasis in educational technology. A demonstrated record of research, scholarly publications and grant writing or a clear indication of potential for success in these areas is required. Also required are excellent English oral communication skills and a minimum of three years of U.S. public school teaching experience. Candidates must show evidence of substantial course work in educational technology applicable to Pre-K-12 learners. Exceptional doctoral candidates who are ABD will receive consideration.
Major responsibilities include: 1) teaching educational technology courses to pre and inservice teachers; 2) teaching other undergraduate or master's courses that may be field-based; 3) maintaining an active research and publication agenda; 4) supervising interns and advising, supervising and serving on master's theses and doctoral dissertations; 5) serving on university committees and other service activities.
