Applied Psychology Undergraduate (APUG) Club

What we're aboutThe Applied Psychology Undergraduate Club (APUG) is a student-run organization dedicated to providing opportunities for students to enhance their understanding and appreciation of psychology through a variety of social, professional development, and community service activities. American Sign Language (ASL) Club

When we meetWednesdays 7:00-8:00 PM in Pless Hall 3rd floor lounge

What we're aboutASL Club is dedicated to Deaf culture and American Sign Language. We act as support for anyone in the ASL classes and for those interested in American Sign Language but have not yet been immersed. During our meetings we talk about important deaf individuals, play games involving sign language, discuss controversial issues within Deaf Culture, and organize events that expose our members to an in-depth signing/cultural experience. We love having new members so feel free to drop by whenever you want to pick up some signs! All levels of signers are welcome (even if you don't know the alphabet!). Ask us about club t-shirts and check for updates on our Facebook page or by joining our email list. We look forward to signing with you!

Classical Voice Collective

Communications Club

When we meetOur meetings vary but they usually happen two times a month and around 6:30pm on a weekday night. Site visits usually happen 2-3 times a semester and take place on Fridays.

What we're aboutThe Communications Club at New York University works alongside the Department of Media, Culture and Communication in making sure each and every member is informed, prepared, and confident to enter the field of communications. We provide networking opportunities through academic seminars, collaborations with New York City communications centers, and have consistent contact with professors, advisors, alumni and other students. Some of the companies we've invited in the past to speak include Google, 360i, BuzzFeed, and Ogilvy and Mather. We've also hosted site visits at Nielsen, Facebook, and Tumblr. Composers' Collective

When we meetThe first and third Wednesday of every month in the main conference room on the 6th floor of Steinhardt

What we are about: NYU Composers' Collective (CC) exists, first and foremost, to promote the music of NYU Steinhardt composers. The title of composer is not exclusively referring to those pursuing a major in Music Theory and Composition, but to all who contribute to expanding the repertoire of contemporary music. With each event, we strive to spotlight and showcase the wide range of talents found at our school: cutting edge concert composers, film composers, songwriters, and electronic music composers are all to be given opportunities for promotion and exposure. The wide variety of events CC puts on—concerts, guest speakers, workshops, etc.—attempt to service the needs of music-makers of all types and genres, expanding the opportunities offered to those who study music at NYU Steinhardt.

What we're about(Eating. Affecting. Talking)  As passionate students within the fields of nutrition, dietetics, and food studies, we come together with the common interests of reaching out to the public through volunteer work, expanding our own professionalism through career development, and enjoying the process with social events. Some traditional events include film screenings, cooking demos, holiday eating, and networking events.

National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSHLA)

What we're aboutNYU NSSLHA is an academically based student-run organization designed to meet the needs and interests of students studying communicative sciences and disorders.  In addition to addressing academic concerns, the group performs community service and organizes social events for its members.Traditional events include the Walk4Hearing and the Winter Banquet. NSSLHA also runs a mentorship program to connect incoming students and upperclassmen.

What we're aboutSMENYU is a club dedicated to the advocacy of music through service and education.  All majors are welcome!  Our mission is to provide the resources and opportunities for students concerned with issues in music and/or education to come together for the purposes of professional development and networking, as well as outreach to the community.  Over the course of the year, we put on several workshops and mixers, as well as put on our entirely student run musical in the spring.

Teaching and Learning Ambassadors

When we meetMonday nights at 7 pm

What we're aboutWe are a club for Teaching and Learning students who wish to discuss issues surrounding education, participate in service projects, and want to get to know other Teaching and Learning students. We host card-making and teddy bear-making events in which we decorate cards and/or teddy bears to distribute to children in hospitals. We also participate in NY Cares Day which involves us revamping local schools by painting walls and planting trees.

What we're about: West 4th Music Group is a club that aims to provide students with hands-on experience working in a music label / management setting, while also promoting new and exciting music throughout the NYU community. The club’s activities will include record production, artist branding, and organizing live music events for our artists.
