Henry Terepka is a producer/songwriter living in New York City. Henry’s passion is bringing together scenes and sounds to discover new connections and combinations. Throughout the 2010s, Henry played hundreds of shows in his native NYC and nationally with his band Zula, a psych-pop project co-fronted with his cousin Nate Terepka. Zula released three albums and several EPs, winning praise from Jon Pareles in The New York Times for “pointillistic structures with a mainspring of minimalism.” Henry continues to play out regularly as a singer-songwriter. He has fronted his own band since 2022, integrating the hypnotic soundscapes that have become the basis and fountain of his inspiration into continued collaborative work as a musician, performer, engineer and producer.
After graduation from Collegiate School in NYC, Henry received his BA and secondary teaching certification in English from Connecticut College, and taught high school English. In 2006, Henry began working for NYC composer Rob Reale shortly before Rob started 4 Elements Music. 4 Elements Music is a curated production music library with a focus on instrumental and underscore music for television, film, and other media. As music director for 4 Elements Music for the last fifteen years, Henry has overseen the development of its catalog from the first cues to an 8000+ title midsize production music library with a global network of composers.
Henry has composed music for Dateline (NBC), Today (NBC), NBC News Specials, 20/20 (ABC), Art21 (PBS), NY Med (ABC), The Katie Couric Show (ABC), Good Morning America (ABC), PrimeTime (ABC), What Would You Do? (ABC) and many other shows; among his mix credits are the theme music to Dateline (NBC). As a producer, Henry has worked with artists Caitlin Pasko, Jamell NYT, and Operator Music Band. As a mastering engineer he regularly works on production music, trailer music, and artist music projects. Henry is an active member of the Production Music Association, volunteering at events and appearing as a panelist on topics related to music licensing and composition.
