K-8 Scope and Sequence

Here you will find all of the content dealing with the NYC K-8 Scope and Sequence to help you on your way:

  • NYC K-8 Scope and Sequence:
  • NYU Courses - Science Experiences for Elementary School
  • SCIED-GE 2009 - SCIED-GE 2010
    • SCIED-GE 2009 is designed to provide opportunities to learn about teaching science to children, and to help develop confidence in implementing exciting science programs. Since we all learn best by doing rather than hearing about things, this will be, to the extent possible, a hands-on course.

We will explore issues including basic attitudes toward science, equity in the science classroom, and learning styles; develop a catalogue of resources, both in print and on-line, for expanding understanding of science content, developing science skills, integrating science into the rest of the curriculum, exploring science activities appropriate for children, and assessing science teaching and learning; and use the Internet to develop a network of science teachers with whom to share ideas and concerns.
    • SCIED-GE 2009 - Elementary School Science Overview

    • SCIED-GE 2010 - This course is designed to continue the opportunities to learn about teaching science to children, and to help develop confidence in implementing effective science programs. Since we all learn best by doing rather than hearing about things, this is also a course in which you develop and implement science activities using your peers as your K-6 students.
