Fast Track to Teaching

The Department of Teaching and Learning offers ten 12-14 month full-time master's degree programs in teacher education to accelerate your preparation as a certified teacher. Specially designed for recent college graduates and career changers, we offer our top-ranked master's degree programs leading to initial teacher certification in an accelerated format that allows you to complete your degree in three consecutive semesters, including summers, of full-time study.

These accelerated programs provide the same benefits of regular full-time study, including:

Schedule: Students begin their coursework in early June, taking a full load of courses. During the Fall and Spring terms, students take their remaining credits, including student teaching. Students complete their program of study by early June of the following year. Secondary education, TESOL and dual certification students finish their studies within 14 months.

Admission: Admission to these accelerated 12-month programs is restricted to full-time students only. Students who wish to enroll on a part-time basis or wish to attend full-time but during the academic year only (Fall and Spring terms) are invited to apply for our regular teacher certification programs.
