Developing Chinese Language Teachers

National Chinese Language Conference, 2011

Dr. Frank Tang, Director of the Center for Developing Chinese Language Teachers, and Dr. Wei-Ling Wu made a presentation at the National Chinese Language Conference in San Francisco on April 15, 2011. Their topic was "Best Practices in Chinese Language Classrooms: A Teaching Clinic".

In the presentation, Dr. Tang and Dr. Wu reviewed teaching strategies for communication skills, grammar, vocabulary, and cultural literacy in Chinese language classrooms by introducing three Chinese lessons they had observed in actual classrooms. Dr. Tang and Dr. Wu then analyzed the lessons and provided constructive criticism and suggestions for improving the lesson plans.
