Clinically Rich Integrated Science Program (CRISP), M.A.

Program of Study

The Clinically Rich Integrated Science Program (CRISP) M.A. leads to eligibility for initial/professional certification in teaching science (biology, chemistry, or physics), grades 7-12, in New York State.

Length of Program

Students complete 35 units (credits) through continuous study, commencing in the first summer and concluding in late June of the following year.  While the residency component of the program starts in July with a three-week session, the majority of the residency program takes place from September through June, following the calendar of the public school year.

Students are required to study full time in this program.

Degree Requirements

Students complete 12 credits in the practice of science teaching, 11 in science content, and 12 on core learning in special education, the learning sciences, literacy, and assessment.  Some elements of the curriculum span more than one semester.
