Group Dynamics

Course introduces students to the theory of group processes and dynamics that underlie the practice of group counseling and the use of groups in a wide range of counselor interventions. Students will develop an understanding of group dynamics and their own behavior in groups through lectures, readings, participation in and observation of ongoing groups. Attention will begiven to personal, interpersonal, and group level dynamics as they occur in groups and to the interdependence of emotions, behavior, and thought in group life.

Costs

Tuition: Regular NYU Spring tuition plus fees; Housing Fee: approximately $750, Activities fee: approximately $200

Only housing and activities fees due before the trip, by Dec. 1, 2008. Spring tuition due February 1, 2009.

Flight, Travel, and Visa Information

Flight: Students book their own travel to coincide with program dates. There are direct flights from New York to Puebla (Hermanos Serdan Puebla Airport--PBC), or students can fly into Mexico City International Airport (MEX) and take a 90-minute bus to Puebla.  

 "EstrellaRoja" (Red Star) is the bus line that runs every 30 minutes between MexicoCity's airport and Puebla. The last bus to Puebla departs at 11PM. Schedules can be found at http://www.estrellaroja.com.mx/expreso.asp. "EstrellaRoja" offers service to two terminals in Puebla: the CAPU (Central deAutobuses de Puebla) and the more convenient "4 Poniente".  The approximate cost for the bus ticketis $17 USD or 170 Mexican Pesos. 

Passport: Valid passport required for U.S. citizens. Please note that passport must have at least six months validation beyond the day of the intended entry into the country of travel.

Visa: No visa required of US citizens.

Weather

Warm, sunny days (70º-80º F, or 21º-26º C) and cool nights (40º-50º F,or 5º-10º C) mean you will need layers of clothing.There is almost no precipitation from November through March. See more on city life in Puebla.
