In May 2008, the International Consortium for Research in Science and Math Education (ICRSME) held their 12th annual conference in Quito, Ecuador. Arthur L. White and Donna F. Berlin are the co-organizers of this annual conference. The goal of ICRSME is for the advancement of science and mathematics education in the participating countries. This mission is based on the premise that all peoples can benefit from the knowledge and experiences of their local, national, and international colleagues.
Due to ICRSME’s conference being held in Quito, Ecuador, many participants went on expeditions of the Galapagos Islands. Participants in the conference are science education professors in universities / colleges from around the world, along with other science education professionals and educators.
