Payne Conference Room Guidelines
You must read and agree to all of the below guidelines before you can make a reservation. The schedule on the right side of this page indicates when the room is already reserved.
The Payne Conference Room is available Monday – Friday, 9:00 – 5:00 p.m.only, for use by groups within or directly connected to NYU Steinhardt. Priority will be given to the Senate, Department meetings, and groups. The room is not available for classes or student social events. Students should use the Pless 3rd Floor Lounge.
The Payne Conference Room can accommodate 22 people around the conference table plus another 6-8 people along the periphery of the room.
The conference table consists of six long parallel tables with two smaller tables capping the ends to make one large table; all of the tables are on wheels.
The Payne Conference Room is equipped with a DVD/VCR player, a digital projector, and hook up for laptop computer projection. If you intend to use A/V equipment, please plan to arrive early to test your equipment and deal with any potential media/projection problems.
Rooms must be cleaned and returned to their original condition immediately after use. Since the conference rooms are often reserved back-to-back, please factor in adequate time for clean-up.
For food deliveries: a group representative must be present 30 minutes prior to the start of the event to sign for and approve the order. Dean’s office staff will not take responsibility to sign for food orders. (Please keep in mind that most deliveries arrive earlier than scheduled).
The 4th floor is a working office, so please keep noise level to a minimum. You are responsible for informing the meeting guests that cell phone use is prohibited in the main office space.
Adequate copies of any hard copy materials to be distributed at your event should be brought with you. It is not permitted for guests to use the telephones or computers on the 4th floor without consulting a 4th floor permanent employee.
