Israeli and U.S. Higher Education Leaders Convene at NYU Steinhardt

Israeli and U.S. higher education leaders met last week at New York University for a three-day meeting to foster a community of purpose among Israeli research universities and colleges.

The attendees included eight Israeli university and college presidents, NYU President Andrew Hamilton, and NYU trustee Michael Steinhardt.  The event was led by Ann Marcus, director of the NYU Steinhardt Institute for Higher Education Policy and Yaffa Zilbershats, chairperson of the Planning and Budgeting Committee for Israel’s Council for Higher  Education.

Since 2008, the NYU Steinhardt Institute has worked with Israeli officials and leaders to strengthen the Israeli system of higher education and review ways to integrate component sectors and align it more closely with national economic and social goals.
