Steinhardt’s Education Policy Experts Rank Among the Most Influential in the Nation

Steinhardt faculty members are among the most influential education policy academics in the country according to the 2017 RHSU Edu-Scholar Public Influence Rankings, published by Rick Hess, director of education policy at the American Enterprise Institute.

The Edu-Scholar Public Influence rankings recognizes 200 university-based scholars who shape public discussions of education. Diane Ravitch, research professor at NYU Steinhardt was listed among the top five.

Steinhardt faculty members on the Edu-Scholar Public Influence list are:

Diane Ravitch (#2) , Okhee Lee (#77), Hirokazu Yoshikawa (#80), Dominic J. Brewer (#123), Joshua Aronson (#132), Stella M. Flores (#139).

“These results offer insight into how scholars in a field of public concern are influencing thinking.  One small way to encourage academics to step into the fray is to recognize those scholars who engage in public discourse,” Hess said.
