Chelsea Garbell Named Student Speaker at NYU’s All-University Commencement

At NYU’s 181st Commencement Ceremony in Yankee Stadium, Chelsea Garbell will give remarks on behalf of all NYU graduates. Garbell, who graduates with a BS degree from Steinhardt’s Department of Media, Culture, and Communication and a minor in public health policy and Hebrew and Judaic studies, is president emeritus and founder of Bridges:  Muslim-Jewish Interfaith Dialogue at NYU.  Voted one of NYU’s 15 most influential students by the Washington Square News, Garbell  has been described as a student whose values mirror the university’s mission to be “in and of” the city and “in and of the world.”  She plans to pursue graduate study and work in the field of global reproductive rights advocacy.
