Dance Education Conferences Offer Panels, Performances, Immersion

Master classes, performances, yoga for dancers, and choreography studies are just some of the offerings this July at NYU as Steinhardt’s Dance Education Program hosts two conferences: CORPS de Ballet International and World Dance Alliance-Americas Global Dance Events.

CORPS de Ballet International, Bodies of Knowledge: Ballet and Academe, 12th Annual Ballet Teacher Conference, July 7-11, 2010.

The conference will include member presentations, a master class and discussion with ballerina/choreographer/teacher Susan Jaffe, and the presentation of the 2010 CORPS de Ballet Lifetime Achievement Award to Professor of Dance at the University of South Florida and former American Ballet Theatre II Ballet Mistress Gretchen Ward Warren. World Dance Alliance-Americas Global Dance Event, In Time Together: Viewing and Reviewing Contemporary Dance Practice, July 12-17, 2010.

Held on the NYU campus and at New York City’s Dance Theater Workshop, this conference will include performances, scholarly papers, panels, master classes, and workshops that address issues, directions, histories, and cultures of viewing, reviewing, and otherwise experiencing contemporary dance practice.
