Alan Turry Brings Music Therapy to Florence Italy

Alan Turry, managing director of Steinhardt’s Nordoff Robbins Center for Music Therapy, gave a day-long lecture on music therapy to doctors, health care workers, musicians, teachers, and music therapists at the Centro Toscano Musicoterapia in Florence Italy in July. In addition, Turry gave a week long workshop at the Centro teaching clinical improvisation skills to music therapists. Turry teaches graduate students and professional music therapists at the Nordoff-Robbins Center and has helped to develop the Nordoff-Robbins supervision program in Japan, the Nordoff-Robbins clinical program in Korea, and has led workshops on clinical improvisation in Denmark, Greece, Poland, Ireland and Italy.
