Molly Alter is the Data Manager and a Research Analyst at the Research Alliance. As a leader of the data team, Molly’s primary responsibility is building, maintaining, and securing the Research Alliance’s archive of data about New York City schools. She also coordinates professional development for Research Alliance analysts, and provides in-house SAS expertise. In addition, Molly conducts analyses for various Research Alliance projects.
Molly built her programming and data management expertise as a Technical Research Assistant in the Families and Children policy area at MDRC and, before that, as the Lead Undergraduate Research Assistant for Professor Randall Reback at Barnard College.
Molly received a B.A. in economics with a minor in English from Barnard College, and is pursuing an M.S. in computer science at NYU’s Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences.
