About the Cambridge Centre for Gender Studies

The Cambridge Center for Gender Studies was established in 1998 and, since 2004, has been under the director-ship of Professor Juliet Mitchell.

The Center offers seminars, lectures and workshops that provide academic skills, leadership and gender awareness for a student body of future global leaders and opinion formers.

Through an intensive course of lectures by eminent Cambridge professors, and in discussion seminars and workshops, the module in gender theory, method and practice will focus on how to use specific research fields to work towards a general analysis of gender which one day will be as sophisticated as the understanding of social class. Only then will the implementation of gender equity be possible.
