Roya Ghazinouri is the Assistant Chief of Physical Therapy Services at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. She received her master's degree in physical therapy from MGH Institute of Health Professions where she is currently completing her DPT degree. She has been actively involved in research in the field of cancer rehabilitation. Her areas of interest are treatment of patients with lung cancer, hematological malignancies, and neurological cancers. Roya has initiated a multidisciplinary post-operative pulmonary program for patients following lung surgery. As the Research Director for the Rehabilitation Service at Memorial Sloan-Kettering, she has been involved in conducting numerous retrospective and prospective studies on the effects of therapeutic exercise in treatment of patients with cancer. She has been a regular presenter at the APTA combined Sections Meeting and has published her work in the APTA Rehabilitation Oncology Journal. She focuses her practice on integrating physical rehabilitation in all aspects of cancer care. Her dedication to the physical therapy profession, as well as her interest in cancer care, has led to her involvement in this specialized field of physical therapy.
