Tsega A. Mehreteab
Dr. Tsega Andemicael Mehreteab is Clinical Professor of Physical Therapy in the Department at New York University. She received her BS in Physical Therapy from Hunter College, City University of New York, and her MS in Physiology from Rutgers University and DPT in Physical Therapy from Temple University. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Dr. Mehreteab has been actively involved in promoting the physical therapy profession both nationally and internationally. She served as the Vice-president and Treasurer of the APTA-Section in Clinical Electrophysiology. She often travels abroad to Asmara, Eritrea in East Africa where she serves as a consultant to the Eritrean Physiotherapy Center and the Department of Education of the Eritrean Ministry of Health. She has conducted numerous lectures and workshops for the Eritrean Physiotherapists regarding physical therapy interventions, health and wellness, and professional practice and behavior. She also assisted in the development of the Health Sciences Curriculum of Asmara University. Dr. Mehreteab is a published author with her most recent text entitled Integrating Physical Agents in Rehabilitation (2nd Edition), Appleton and Lange Pub.
Dr. Mehreteab’s areas of expertise are in clinical electrophysiology, exercise physiology, physiology of the cardiovascular system, and cardiovascular/pulmonary and geriatric physical therapy.
