Dr. Andrew McDonough is an Associate Professor of Physical Therapy in the Department at New York University. Dr. McDonough received a BS in Biology from Gettysburg College. He furthered his education by receiving a Physical Therapy Certificate from the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University, an MS in Human Anatomy from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and a EdD in Motor Learning from the Department of Movement Sciences and Education at Columbia University's Teachers College. An accomplished researcher, Dr. McDonough has published numerous articles, studies, and texts. Amongst his most recent publications is a book entitled LabVIEW: Data Acquisition and Analysis for the Movement Sciences which was published by Prentice Hall/Pearson Education in 2001. His current research concerns a series of studies investigating the ability of students and experienced physical therapists to apply manual forces to soft tissues. A highly respected figure in the physical therapy field, Dr. McDonough acts a manuscript reviewer for such organizations as Prentice Hall/Pearson Eduction Publishers, the Journal of Orthopaedic and Sports Physical Therapy, and the online Journal of Exercise Physiology and as a book/software reviewer for Physical Therapy (Journal).
Dr. McDonough's areas of expertise are in anatomy, histology, orthopedic physical therapy, and motor control.
